Frequently Asked Questions

What Do You Recycle?

E&E Waste is committed to a sustainable future and has a dedicated fleet of recycling trucks that roll out of the depot daily. Each of our recycling trucks can bring up to 350 wheelie bins worth of recycled products back every day, and our vehicles have onboard computers to ensure no bin is left behind.

Our recycling trucks have the latest technologies installed, including onboard cameras to monitor the waste and protect against contamination, ensuring the maximum volume of waste is recycled and does not reach landfills.

We treat this process very seriously, and bins with non-recyclable items that could contaminate the rest of the load are labeled with “non-compliant” stickers. This label means we will not collect them until we resolve the issue.

A wide range of this recycled waste is sent to the Challenge Community Services Recycling Facility in Narrabri, including cardboard, drink and food containers, plastics, steel, and other metals.

People with a disability proudly staff the Challenge facility and the facility processes over 10,000 tonnes of these recycled materials. Once sorted, the materials are then sent to specialist recycling facilities in the local region.

Finally, all paper products, including newsprint, are sent to Fibre Cycle in Toowoomba to be recycled into environmentally safe litter and bedding products for pets. Their products are made from over 99 per cent recycled materials, and their biodegradable products are sold worldwide.

Why Do I Need My Waste To Be Managed?

To correctly manage waste, there are many legal requirements to follow. The waste created by businesses needs to be handled professionally to ensure companies stay within the law.

You may be prosecuted and fined if you do not handle your waste correctly. Our company is fully licensed and complies with all of the laws governing the waste and recycling industry.

On top of regulation, recycling and disposing of waste ethically, safely, and responsibly can reduce negative environmental impacts. Keeping waste management procedures regular will minimize the amount of waste material that goes to the general waste stream like landfill sites.

Is Waste Management a Safety Issue For My Worksite?

Your waste is also a workplace health and safety issue. Employees and even civilians can trip or injure themselves if waste is not managed correctly in the workplace. A large amount of waste is especially problematic on construction sites and yards that have been demolished.

Safety is a priority no matter where employees work, whether indoors or outdoors. You should reduce the amount of waste in the working environment for many reasons, including clear walkways and clean workspaces.

Keeping the environment clean and clear is the best way to safeguard against potential trip hazards.

In these situations, skip bins are a perfect solution, offering a large volume of space to throw away materials that may cause a problem. Additionally, it will help you limit any legal action that may occur at your workplace caused by accidents resulting from poor waste management.
