E&E Waste is now an Authorised Refund Point Operator working with Containers For Change. We are integral part of Queensland’s container refund scheme, by providing a place where you can return eligible containers in exchange for a 10 cent refund. We are responsible for collecting, counting and sorting returned containers, paying your refund amounts and preparing materials for transport to a processor.
In addition, to these day-to-day responsibilities, E&E Waste are the face of ‘Containers for Change’ in Toowoomba, Goondiwindi and the west and it is our mission to provide high levels of customer service to ensure that you not only have a convenient place to take your containers but your experience is simple and easy.
As of 19 December 2018 we have collected and processed 5 Million Containers in Toowoomba and Goondiwindi. But we’re not resting on our laurels, having just installed 6 state-of-the-art automated self-serve terminals, that instantaneously recognise any container, without barcodes, making it effortless for you, our customers.
These brand new self-serve terminals are a world-first, developed in South Australia, and will recognise any container, no matter what condition it’s in, whether crushed or missing its label. This is achieved through state-of-the-art Visual Recognition Technology that identifies any deposit container using a mathematical algorithm similar to facial-recognition, with visual data only determining what is being conveyed past the high-speed camera. Many other systems rely on barcodes and brand labels being in pristine condition, but E&E Waste’s new system doesn’t need them.
What all this means is that returning containers just got a whole lot simpler, not to mention quicker. Containers are processed and counted instantaneously, and once finished you will receive a receipt with your ‘count’. Then you can proceed to the Cash Point, scan your receipt (with QR code) and simply receive your cash, just like any ATM. We would encouraged you to register for a scheme ID at Containers For Change, but it’s not essential to have one when using the Cash Point. With 4 terminals in Toowoomba and 2 terminals in Goondiwindi, waiting time is at a minimum. So, come in and give them a try!
