Hell of the West

Proud Supporters

E&E Waste are proud to announce that we are the 2014 Naming Rights Sponsor for the Hell of the West inaugural triathlon. We have been involved for a number of years, providing waste services for free, and decided that it was time we lent our full support to this important local event.

The Event

Hell of the West is one of Australia’s toughest & most challenging races. Not for the faint hearted it is a 2KM Swim in the freezing waters of the Macintyre River, 80 KM Bike Ride and 20 KM Run in the blazing heat of a Goondiwindi summer!

The 2km SWIM consists of 1km upstream then 1km downstream return in the MacIntyre River, starting and finishing at the Town boat ramp. Please note that long and short sleeved wetsuits are not permitted unless water temperature is below 23 degrees.

The 80km CYCLE leg is a ‘dead flat’ 40 km west, out on the Barwon Highway towards St George and then return. The road surface is reasonable with some short sections that require care and attention. This stretch of road is renowned for its cross winds and disks are not recommended.

The 20km RUN consists of three loops heading towards the western edge of town. Aid stations are placed every kilometre.

There is over $10,000 worth of prize money up for grabs for winners of the race.
